Recipe For Herb Pasta
May 9, 2008 by 1actressinoregon
Hey everyone
So, today seems like the perfect day for making pasta so I thought I would share with you one of my favorite recipes for it. I am absolutely crazy about pasta so it is only natural that I would want to learn how to make it so I can just make it all the time and that is exactly what I did. I found the recipe in Betty Crocker and then I just played around with it. I like it with some tomatoes on top, but a lot of people like sauce on theirs and a four cheese sauce would be great. The best part is that you can make this pasta without a pasta maker (I love making stuff by hand). I hope you enjoy it. Simple, but well worth the yummy taste. P.S. Do you like the picture of pasta I found? Maybe if you’re really good your pasta can turn out like that.
“Hearty Homemade Herb Pasta”*
Ingredients: 2 eggs, 1 tsp dried herb leaves, 1 tbs vegetable oil, ½ tsp salt, ¼ cup water, 1 cup all-purpose flour, and 1 cup whole-wheat flour.
1) In a bowl mix the flours, salt, and the herb leaves. Make a well in the center and then put the eggs, water, and oil in the well. Mix with a wooden spoon thoroughly.
2) Roll dough into a ball. On a floured surface knead for 8 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap. Let stand for 15 minutes.
3) Divide dough into 4 parts. On the light floured surface roll each part (one at a time) into 1/8 inch thick. Loosely fold rectangle lengthwise into thirds. Cut crosswise into 1/8 inch strips. Unfold and shake out the strips gently. Arrange pasta into a single layer on lightly floured paper towels. Let stand until completely dry.
4) In a saucepan heat 4 quarts of water (salted) to boiling. Add pasta. Boil for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until firm and tender. Then drain.
5) Enjoy with some tomatoes (if you like) and a lot of good family fun.

Alright, I’m off to make my terrific day!
Have a good one ![]()
